"아시아 스포츠 선교 컨퍼런스 환영사"
여러분들을 기쁨으로 환영합니다. 아시아 32개국으로부터 오신 170여 형제 자매들을 한국에서 참여하신 50 여 형제 자매들과 함께 환영하는 것은 대단한 일입니다. 한국교회는 짧은 기간 동안이지만 여러분들을 맞아서 교제할 수 있게 되어서 아주 행복합니다. 왜냐하면 여러분들은 이념적인 갈등이 극심한 오늘 사랑과 구원의 복음을 세상에 전하기 위해서 우리 주님 예수 그리스도로부터 선택 받은 그릇들이고 그리고 가장 효과적인 복음 전파의 도구들이기 때문입니다. 저는 다음과 같은 말을 자주 합니다. “선교는 반드시 설교 사역도 신학 사역도 이적 사역도 아닙니다. 선교는 누군가와 함께 놀아주는 것이고 함께 즐거워하는 것입니다. 예수님께서는 죄인들과 함께 식사하시면서 좋은 시간을 가지셨습니다.” 그런데 여러분들은 선교의 모델이 되시는 예수님의 발 자취를 따르고 있습니다. 그래서 여러분들은 세상에서 가장 축복 받은 사람들이고 가장 행복한 사람들입니다.
하나님께서는 한국교회를 크게 축복하셨습니다. 그 축복들은 하나님의 무조건적이고 넘치는 은혜로부터 온 것이고 신실한 믿음의 선배들이 겪은 고난과 저들이 짊어진 희생들로부터 온 것입니다. 그러나 한국교회는 지금 그 동안 물려받은 신실함과 순수함의 고귀한 신앙적 유산을 많이 상실했고 많이 세속화되었습니다. 한국교회가 십자가의 복음을 전하는 “대 위임령”을 수행할 수 있도록 한국교회를 위하여 기도해 주시기를 바랍니다. 우리 아시아의 친구들과 한국의 친구들이 이번 “아시아 스포츠 컨퍼런스”을 통해서 피차 격려와 축복을 받게 된다면 대단히 좋을 것입니다. 다시 한번 가슴으로부터 여러분들을 환영하며 사랑과 존경을 표합니다. 하나님께서 여러분들을 크게 축복하시기를 기원합니다.

“Welcome Address At the Asia Sports Mission Conference"
Rev. Kim Myung Hyuk, Ph.D., Chairman of Korea Evangelical Fellowship, Vice Chairman of World Sport Mission
It is my joy to welcome you to Korea. It is wonderful to welcome about 170 Asian brothers and sisters from 32 Asian countries together with about 50 Korean brothers and sisters. Korean churches are very happy to have you and have fellowship with you even for a very short time. It is because you are the specially chosen vessels and the most effective instruments of Jesus Christ our Lord to convey the gospel of love and salvation to the world in the age of ideological conflicts. I often say as the following. “Mission is not necessarily the ministry of preaching, theology or miracles. Mission is rather playing together and having funs together with some one. Jesus was eating together and having good times together with sinners.” You are following the footsteps of the Lord Jesus Christ, the model of mission, and therefore you are the most blessed and happy persons in the world.
God has blessed the Korean churches abundantly. The blessings came through the unmerited and abundant grace of God together through much sufferings and sacrifices shared and born by our faithful forefathers of faith. The Korean churches have, however, lost much of the honorable heritage of faithfulness and purity and have been much secularized. Please pray for the Korean churches that we could be used for carrying out the “Great Commission” to convey the gospel of the cross. It will be great if both of us, Asian and Korean friends, would be encouraged and blessed through our “Asia Sports Mission Conference” here in Korea. Again I heartily welcome you with love and respect. May God bless you abundantly!
